Hot bite and happy crew! Had Lager and their crew out on the water this fall for an early morning start. Partly cloudy skies with storms possible made for interesting conditions on Nolin River Lake. It was a beautiful day on the water at Rough River Lake in Breckinridge County, Kentucky as I welcomed Donald for our 6-Hour Rough River Lake Fishing Charter. May is a prime time for fishing these central Kentucky waters, with the bass and hybrid striped bass (wiper) really getting active as the weather warms up.

We got set up with a variety of techniques - jigging, trolling, baitcasting, heavy tackle, and light tackle - to cover different depths and target the various species in the lake. The partly cloudy skies and light rain that cleared later in the day made for perfect fishing conditions, and the water was in great shape as we headed out.

It didn't take long before the action heated up. Donald hooked into a feisty Wiper that put up a fantastic fight, stripping line and making some aerial acrobatics before we were able to get it in the boat. Shortly after, he followed that up with a nice Largemouth Bass that fell for a jig we were working along a submerged ledge. The bite stayed strong throughout the day, and we had a blast constantly switching up our presentations to stay on the fish.

This was exactly the kind of trip that makes fishing on Rough River Lake so special. The diverse fishery means you never know what's going to be on the other end of the line, and the beautiful scenery and comfortable weather make it an absolute joy to be out on the water. After o-FISH-ally retiring, Capt. Chris has devoted his time to pursuing his lifelong dream of taking new friends on fishing tours, families out on the lake, and being able to provide clients with a day that will create enough memories to last a lifetime! He has been heavily involved in tournament fishing participating in Bass Master, USA Bassin, MLF &amp; Renegade Divisions since 2016 as a Co-angler and a Boater. If you’re a seasoned bass fisherman, Capt. Chris welcomes you aboard and looks forward to hearing about your experiences and enjoys sharing relevant stories to make the experience more memorable! He strives to build relationships with his clients that will last a lifetime.&nbsp;Boating Adventures with Captain Chris has been a great way for him to witness and share the love of Jesus and fellowship with others.
